This modern cabin located in Methow Valley has been designed by Prentiss + Balance + Wickline Architects for a busy couple and their family. The dwelling hides in a forest of ponderosa trees and a meadow with uninterrupted views of the valley and the North Cascades mountains. 

The house has been designed in an ecological spirit, willing to preserve the surrounding trees and to ensure these two natural views. 

The modern look of the dwelling doesn't let the cabin feeling slip away. Inside the house, two stone chimneys merge the rustic atmosphere with the contemporary one while offering a heating source. 

The three volumes clad in siding are housed under a single roof are represented by the garage, the guest suite, and a master bedroom. The volumes are connected through glass and stone and integrate the kitchen, the living room, and the dining room.

The dwelling benefits from two patios, one on each side, extending the open living area to the natural outdoors and offering different views and uses. A place to dine has been organized in one of the corners from a barbecue and an improvised kitchen.
